Doctors

	Dr. Michael Phillips Dr. Phillips is a native of north Mississippi and received his Bachelor's degree in Biology from Millsaps College where he was also a four-year varsity letterman in football. Dr. Phillips received his Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry. He is an active member of the Metro Jackson Lion’s Club and is a member of the public relations committee within the MOA. He is a member of the American Optometric Association as well as the Mississippi Optometric Association. Dr. Phillips is also a provider in InfantSee. He attends Meadowbrook Church of Christ. Dr. Phillips and his wife Cassie have four children, Virginia, Max, Eliza, and Rachel. His hobbies include fishing, hunting, gardening and attending sporting events. His occupational interests include contact lenses, treating ocular diseases and post-operative care. Dr. Phillips sees patients in our Ridgeland, Canton, and Brandon locations.
	Dr. Jimbo Bearden Dr. Bearden is a native of Tupelo, Ms. He received a B.S in Biology from Mississippi State University in 2004. In 2010 he received his Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry. He completed externships at the Memphis VA Hospital and Memphis Family Vision. Dr. Bearden received honors including Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities, the Feinbloom Low Vision Award and a four year clinical excellence while at SCO. Dr. Bearden and his wife Rachael have 2 little boys, Hunter and Max. He is a member of Madison United Methodist Church, Canton Lion’s Club, Mississippi Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, Mississippi Skeet Shooting Association and Madison County Ducks Unlimited Committee. Dr. Bearden also serves as an Extern Director for the Southern College of Optometry and teaches 4th year students in the clinic. Dr. Bearden sees patients in our Canton, Yazoo City, and Madison locations.
	Dr. Melissa Rasmussen Dr. Rasmussen was born and raised in Covington, TN. After finishing her undergraduate studies at Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN, she went on to receive her Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in 2010. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Mississippi Optometric Association, Infant See, and Yazoo City Lions Club. Dr Rasmussen and her husband, Paul have one son, Kaleb. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading a good book, and watching college football. Go Vols! Dr. Rasmussen sees patients in our Madison and Yazoo City locations.
	Dr. John Lyon Dr. Lyon is a board-certified Ophthalmologist now practicing in Madison, Canton, Waynesboro, and Laurel. He attended medical school at Medical College of Georgia and graduated in 1994. He completed his internship at Greenville Hospital Systems in Greenville, South Carolina and his residency at the Eye Foundation Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama in 1998. He has been in private practice for 15 years, specializing in cataract surgery, LASIK, and plastic surgery of the eyelids. Dr. Lyon strives to provide state-of-the-art surgery with kindness and compassion.
	Dr. Anh Giang Edwards Dr. Edwards was born and raised in the Jackson Metropolitan area. She attended Millsaps College where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Optometry degree at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Dr. Edwards is a member of the Mississippi Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Dr. Edwards and her husband Adam reside in Ridgeland, MS. Dr. Edwards sees patients in ourBrandon, Yazoo City, and Ridgeland locations.
	Dr. Julie Dawson Dr. Julie Dawson is a native of Milan, Tennessee. She graduated from Mississippi State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in 2014. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Mississippi Optometric Association, and the InfantSee program. She attends Fondren Church and enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Dawson is married to Dr. Bran Dawson and they reside in Madison, MS. Dr. Dawson sees patients in our Yazoo City, Ridgeland, and Canton locations.
